BAWA supports a host of affiliated clubs that cover a wide variety of interests. Details of club meeting times and venues are shown below, along with contact details of the various club secretaries. Bowling Club
The outdoor bowls season runs from the 3rd week in April until the last week in September. The club plays 2 games each weekend throughout the season, 1 game at home and 1 away. These are friendly games and teams are selected from a list of players available. In addition we play in 2 leagues: The Bristol & District Bowls League and The Bristol North East Bowls League.
Both leagues also have a knockout cup competition that the club enters. The league games are played on Thursday evenings and the cup games on a Tuesday evening. We also enter as a club the Gloucestershire County Cup, Gloucester 2 rink competition and City & County (Clarence Davy) Knockout Cup. In addition individuals can enter if they wish the Gloucestershire and City and County and North East League Single, Pairs, Triples or Fours Competitions.
The club also runs its own internal competitions and has an impressive display of trophies to be won. We also hold each year a 2 woods pairs competition open to members only, played on and completed in one day. For further information contact any of the following officials: Hon. BAWA I/D Bowls Competition.
The BAWA I/D Bowls Competition runs from May to mid August and is played on the Bowls rink at BAWA, Southmead Road. The games are one a week and comprise of four players per a team, each team can have up to 10 players registered. Start time for games are straight after work, time depending on who is playing. Existing teams are looking for new players, so if you fancy learning to play Bowls or you can play and would like to join an existing team please contact Dave George, League Secretary (0117 979 7982) or Steve Bird (0117 979 6786). Bowls are available to borrow, but you will need to have access to appropriate footwear (need to be flat with no pattern on the sole).
BAWA Sports Football Club
BAWA Sports FC is in the Senior Division of the Bristol & Wessex Sunday League and are always on the lookout for new players especially if they play like Ronaldo or Gerrard! All home games are played on the BAWA pitches
Cricket
Our cricket club takes part in the Bristol and District cricket league. Matches take place on Saturday afternoons. All playing standards welcome.
Dancing (Ballroom)
Specialising in Ballroom and Latin Dancing, the club meet in the BAWA Ballroom every Wednesday evening starting at 7.30pm and finishing at 10.30pm. Early evening is aimed at beginner's level teaching whilst those at the intermediate level are welcomed onto the dance floor from 8pm. At 8.30pm the floor is open to everyone. The club also organises various special dances at times such as Easter, Halloween and Xmas. The dance nights have a summer break between June and August and restart in September.
Dancing (Modern Sequence)
Every Monday in the Ballroom from 8pm, all levels welcome.
Flying Club

Golf

Model Aircraft
The club exists to allow aero modellers to build, fly and develop model aircraft. The club normally fly on the Airbus airfield. The club meets at BAWA on the first Wednesday of each month and after completing club business throws the meeting open to its members to discuss all aspects of model aircraft.
Rifle and Air Pistol
The club uses the indoor 25m MoD approved rifle range within the BAWA sports complex. You do not need any special equipment or clothing as all shooting and safety equipment can be supplied. Targets and ammunition can be purchased from the club.
Rugby
Great social aspect to this club, which competes in the Gloucester League Division 2. The end of season tour is always a highlight. For more details visit their web site: http://www.bacrfc.co.uk
Squash
