A REMINDER TO ALL MEMBERS!

YOUR partners can become BAWA members too! 
Plus, anyone leaving employment from one of our Constituent Companies, who is no longer able to make contributions through payroll can continue BAWA membership by using Direct Debit payment and becoming an NPD (Non payroll deducted) member.

Airbus fundraising kicks off with ‘World Cup’ Charity Tournament!


FOURTEEN teams battled it out and in the process raised £525 for the Great Western Air Ambulance. Shown here is the winning 'Portugal' team with their trophy and medals.




TO make up for injustice in the real World Cup, 'Ireland' replaced 'France' at this tournament but only made it through to the Quarter Finals, while 'England' suffered heavy defeats and could not escape their group.

    The 'Portugal' team, captained by Andy Mathias, were the eventual winners after beating the 'Germans' lead by Jonathan Lainchbury 6-0 in the final of the five-a-side tournament at the Goals Soccer Centre in Bristol.

    Andy and his team were presented with a trophy, one of a number of awards donated by The Trophy Man of Bristol. The tournament was organised by Airbus graduates Michael Duffy and Navin Nayak and was such a success that it is hoped to make it a more regular event.

    “We're planning a number of fundraising events and this one set the ball rolling,” said Michael. “A World Cup tournament seemed a good idea given that the real thing had just taken place and everyone had a great time.”
